Since the day of launch of Lumia 800 in India, Nokia has adopted a lot of new tricks and ideas. One of those ideas was "Lumia Taxi" where Nokia offered Taxi rides. The same thing is going on again in India but this time under the banner of Samsung. Samsung recently launched its Windows Phone 7.5 device Omnia W and now copying the same idea Nokia used a while ago.

This wasn't all after copying Nokia's Marketing strategy, they even parked their Omnia W taxi outside a Nokia store. So one thing's very clear the battle for conquering Windows Phone market in India has began and Nokia is looking good at this time. Lets see who's going to be the future of Windows Phone in India.

Earlier this week, Nokia France made a statement that "new colors for the Lumia 800 are under consideration" while an interview with monwindowsphone. The estimated time for these colors to be available in the market is Q1 2012. The availability of these Colors will depend on the costumer demand and Nokia's estimated Sales Volume.

You can easily see Lumia 800 in two new colors, Yellow & White. However these colors are not finalised and depend upon the factors stated above.

Yes it sounds incredible as its Nokia's chief gifting a Nokia Lumia 800 to Peter, a 26year old Finnish blogger suffering from Duchenne muscular dystrophy. He himself posted on his blog "Pietar" telling the story. Still he reminds that Nokia Lumia 800 is not officially available at stores in Finland. In addition the Nokia employee brought him 2 Angry birds t-shirts.

Yes its true. you can demo a Nokia Lumia (both 800 & 710) like you own it. Nokia's official Facebook page is letting you demo a Nokia Lumia. The app lets you tap around the screen to either watch the demo video or have a realistic trial.

Most of us know that Nokia Lumia 800 owners were facing high battery consumption issue on their devices which led to low battery life. As earlier promised by Nokia, they will be providing a software update that will resolve the problem. This time its Nokia's chief Stephen Elop himself replying to an email on the very topic. Today On Nokia's discussions page, Nokia made the following statement:

 On Monday 12th December some of our customers started to comment in various social media that the preloaded diagnostics tool in some of the Nokia Lumia 800 phones was showing lower battery capacity than expected. We immediately started to investigate these reports and can now confirm that while the battery itself is fine, a software problem on certain variants is limiting the phone’s ability to access the full battery capacity. We want to stress that this issue has not been found to affect the recently introduced Nokia Lumia 710.

The good news is that as this is a software problem it can be easily resolved.  The planned software update in early 2012, as well as including many performance enhancements, will also include a fix that will enable the affected phones to access the total battery capacity.  For anyone who does not want to wait for the software update, Nokia can arrange for a replacement phone.  Anyone who requires any further clarification should contact Nokia Care (Care contact details and locations can be found atwww.Nokia.com/support).

Anyone who wants to know if their phone is affected can run the battery status test from the diagnostics tool already installed on their phone. (The tool is designed for service use and only displays approximate values.) Dialling ##634# opens the diagnostics tool. By accepting the disclaimer and then selecting ‘Battery Status’ from the list of options, anyone will be able to see their available battery charge capacity.  If your full charge capacity reads less than 1000 mAh then your phone is affected with this specific issue and you may find it is necessary to charge your phone more frequently than normal.  Once the software update has been applied, you should experience much better battery life. In the meantime here are some tips on how to increase your battery performance and you should also make sure you are using the charger that came with the phone, as older chargers may not be as effective at charging the new Nokia Lumia 800.

Nokia also cleared that the new modals of the same phone will be free from the above issue for all the customers getting Lumia 800 from now onwards such as in India and Singapore. Still if any costumer faces the same problem, he/she is free to contact Nokia Costumer care for the same.

Today Nokia Unleashed a limited edition Nokia Lumia 800 featuring Batman - The Dark Knight rises.

The device looks the same as black Nokia Lumia 800 but there is a Batman logo etched on the back of the the so called Limited Edition. Nokia has said that they would be producing 40 such devices for the promotion of the movie "Batman - The dark Knight Rises" that will release next year.
