Finally after a lot of leaked screenshots, rough sketches and unofficial rumors, Nokia 801 is here.

Announced yesterday by Nokia conversations China, the official 801 is meant to hit china market only and is to be called Nokia 801T there. The device features a huge 4" screen with built in TV antenna and Nfc.There's not much info on specification given on Nokia Conversations China but surely the device is gonna be having Symbian^3 Anna pre-loaded on it.

Nokia's development community just got its first taste of near field lovin' with the first Qt SDK to support NFC. While you'll be forgiven if you're not up in arms over the latest revelation, owners of the company's latest handsets can soon expect a greater number of useful apps that take advantage of this newfangled technology. The developer tools enable the creation of applications for both Symbian and MeeGo, and allows software authors to simulate NFC tags and create events based around them -- all within the virtual environment. Programmers looking to dip their toes into the water will find a couple of experimental apps from Espoo's pride that highlight near field communication, along with the complete source code for each. Sounds like it's time for some to make a pot of coffee and let the coding madness ensue.

Yes you are right, the dream of having NFC on other symbian^3 devices like Nokia N8, Nokia E7, Nokia C6-01 can come true as the company's (Tyfone) patented technology allows an NFC secure element, controller and antenna to be built into SD and microSD cards, making it possible for mobile phone and PDA owners to add near field communication capabilities to their devices by just adding a Tyfone card.

Tyfone's U4ia secure memory card (SMC) contains:

• An industry standard, GlobalPlatform-compliant multi-application contactless smart card chip
• A memory card controller that includes Tyfone IP that enables the SMC to work with any SD slot equipped device
• A miniaturized antenna, developed by Tyfone

Flash memory, available in standard SD and microSD card capacities (Tyfone's NFC additions don't reduce the size of memory available)  

As well as the secure memory cards, Tyfone also provides a software platform that integrates into the issuer's back office systems and manages the relationship between the client handset, the card and the issuer's back end systems.

We heard, read many blogs stating that Nokia is going to launch the brand new Symbian Belle update soon ,but no one could answer when . But now Nokia france has officially announced that  symbian Belle update is going to roll out for all    Symbian Anna devices from 26th october 2011 onwards Via OTA (Over The air) and through OVI suite .
                       Nokia must be planning to roll out the much anticipated update on the very day Nokia world 2011 is going to start and roumers have also spread that Nokia will launch the first Windows phone on the very day. So its going to be a very nice day for the Nokia n Symbian lovers.

The NFC-equipped Nokia C7 is one of the current range of Nokia phones being lined up for a fresh lick of smartphone paint in the form of the Symbian Belle update. Let's check out what to expect when it arrives. 

The Nokia C7 isn't quite in the same high-end league as the business class Nokia E7 or the ever-popular Nokia N8 camera superstar, but that doesn't mean it's lacking in appeal.

It caters for a slightly more budget and size-conscious smartphone user than its more premium brethren, and also boast a trump card that neither can match: built-in NFC support.

It's a feature Nokia C7 users are only now getting to grips with, as it was only activated with the arrival of the Symbian Anna update recently. But with Nokia clearly having embraced NFC as a central part of Symbian's future, it puts the Nokia C7 in a unique place among the handsets being lined up to receive Symbian Belle via software update in the months to come.

So let's take a quick run-through of the changes that are coming:

Drop-down status bar: notification icons are displayed in a bar along the top of the screen in Symbian Belle, which isn't worlds apart from he approach used in Symbian Anna. But there's a difference – in Symbian Belle you can drag the menu downwards to get all the details you need directly on your homescreen.

More homescreens: and speaking of homescreens, you've got more of them to play with too – as many as six, should you choose to have that many. For a device as focused on social interaction as the Nokia C7, it's a great way to group your favourite services together so you don't have to go looking for them.

Free-form widgets: another significant change is the arrival of free-form resizeable widgets. This means you don't just have a single size and style available for each homescreen widget, as is the case with Symbian Anna. Instead you can choose from a number of different sizes, and arrange them on your homescreens however you like.

NFC: there's no question that NFC is a big part of what's good about Symbian Belle, and uniquely among the crop of Symbian Anna handsets looking forward to a software update, the Nokia C7 has the hardware capabilities to support it. In theory, then, this should allow the Nokia C7 to use services such as Tap to Share and Tap to Pair, and get the most of Symbian Belle's NFC smarts.
